David Cains - Managing Director

David Cains has been involved in the debt collection industry since 1975. David Cains has been a National Credit Manager of a Japanese Multinational Corporation, A TAFE lecturer for External Studies Debt Collections, Current National President of Institute of Mercantile Agents, which now incorporates Australian Collectors Association Pty Ltd and Industry spokesman on a number of issues with both State & Federal Governments.

David Cains completed an MBA in Small Business Management at Southern Cross University also completing a number of university subjects, short courses, and seminars relating to our industry to provide leading-edge debt collection services and information to clients reflecting the latest in industry practice and applicable laws.

• Privacy Act
  A Director of the company, David Cains is an Industry Spokesman and Privacy Committee member on the Privacy Act 1991- 2000 since 1988 and has been involved in educating Institute of Mercantile Agent members at seminars on the Act including recent charges with electronic commerce.
• ACCC
  David Cains also completed the Institute of Mercantile Agents (IMA) submission to recent changes to the ACCC/ASIC guidelines on permissible debt collection procedures. His submission also formed the basis of the Australian Collectors Association submission. The final ACCC/ASIC guidelines have incorporated the full submission and the IMA now acts as industry liaison with the ACCC/ASIC.

Roselle Cains - Director

Roselle Cains has developed an expertise in billing systems and credit card management since joining the company in 1987. Her expertise in running the management systems has allowed other directors the time to acquire skills through outside participation with Industry Groups and Educational Bodies. .

Peter McDonald - Director

Since joining the business in 1990, Peter has been responsible for sales and developing debt collection systems for our government and corporate clients as well as managing our Brisbane office. Since 1999 Peter has been Operations Director for the ARMS Group of companies. Peter's training knowledge was used as part of an approved committee that wrote a TAFE training program for mercantile agents.

Tom Torpy - Director

Tom joined the company in August 1989 after 10 years employment at the Justice Department (Courts Branch), where he gained extensive experience in all facets of the legal system, in particular being part of the management team at the Melbourne Magistrates Court for several years.

Matthew Tyler - National Collections Manager

Matt is based in Brisbane with a national focus, and is responsible for ARMS Global’s Brisbane Contact Centre which serves both clients and many of our sites. The role encompasses all aspects of the collections process, continually working with key stakeholders and our valued clients. Having held several senior management positions in Australasia and the UK, Matt has over 5 years experience in credit management and call centre technology, and has managed several consumer debt purchase portfolios worth in excess of $50m.

Chris Bell – Director and General Manager ARMS Group NZ

Chris Bell joined the firm in Aug 2002 when Chris Bell & Associates was merged with ARMS NZ. Chris has extensive knowledge of the Accounts Industry having been involved in the industry for the last 14 years. Chris has extensive business contacts throughout the NZ market.  Chris is available to supply specialist support to overseas based clients in the NZ market.

John Petersen - Director & General Manager ARMS Commercial Operations

A veteran of the credit services and debt collection industry, John has been involved as an owner, senior executive, consultant and industry representative for the debt collection and credit management services industry for over 30 years. During the last two years he has developed compliance programs for the debt recovery and credit reporting industries and has been a project manager for compliance and commercial performance audit programs involving the banking, finance and telecommunications industries. John has been actively involved with the professional development of the industry and in its dealings with government. He has served on many industry bodies including president for two years of the NSCA(Australian Collectors Association). He is a member of the IMA, Australian Collectors Association and Australian Credit Forum.

Myles Stanley - Group General Manager - Finance

Myles joined the team in December 2005. Myles has an extensive large business background across a number of industries. He served for a number of years as Financial Controller to one of Queensland’s largest healthcare providers overseeing annual revenues in excess of $190M. Myles has extensive experience in financial planning and analysis as well as audit, financial reporting and quality systems. Myles is a Fellow of the Australian Society of CPA’s and for a number of years has served in a voluntary capacity on the State Finance Committee and the State Executive of the Queensland Branch of the Scout Association of Australia.
